How to cancel Academia.edu

3. Select Academia.edu (listed under a plan name such as Academia Premium - Monthly).
4. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm. You keep access until the end of the paid period.

Absurd subscription costsThe subscription cost for academia is getting more and more insane. These are greedy people who only care about gatekeeping knowledge. You can find most of these papers for free online elsewhere. Use google scholar, JSTOR, or Research gate to access these papers.

No dark mode (eye destroyer)Dark mode is free feature provided by Apple in the SDK (software developer kit) this has been industry standard in apps now for years. How are we in 2026 and you don’t have this free (copy & paste code)that Apple offers you, embedded within your app?
